FYE Reflective Writing #9: Duchamp's "Fountain"

Your 60-minute assignment today is very straightforward: Write and submit a brilliant, thoughtful, and impeccably written reflective response to the Duchamp debate we had yesterday in FYE. Before we start, we're going to read this article to re-familiarize ourselves with the issue and the actual history of Duchamp's piece.

What do you really think about the issue of ready-made art and why? Use Duchamp's "Fountain" as your primary example.

Just for fun we're all going to use the same structure:
Introduction (1st paragraph) = 3 sentences
Body (2nd paragraph) = 5 sentences
Conclusion (3rd paragraph) = 3 sentences

You will need a transition that joins the paragraphs ( in the 4th and 9th sentences), and you'll need to include a super-brief counterargument (probably in the 5th sentence).

You only have 11 sentences to work with (not 10 or 12 or 19). One of these sentences must be in the form of a question. This is part of the challenge.

After you have written it, revised it, and edited it, type it and upload it to the proper place on Populi. I will be floating around to help you with any questions you might have. We will begin our critique promptly at 3:05.
